TORONTO -- The Blue Jays reportedly are on the verge of signing veteran right-hander Chien-Ming Wang to a contract.

Wang has reached a deal to join Toronto, according to a report by FoxSports.com, and he's expected to start on Tuesday against the White Sox.

The Blue Jays have not confirmed or commented on the report.

The 33-year-old Wang had been pitching for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre of the Yankees system but was granted his release in order to pursue an opportunity at the big league level.
